And since we’re a family-owned clinic, it’s only natural we treat our patients the same way. With respect, patience, compassion, and okay, maybe a few too many treats.

Becky came to work here at CityPets in 2010 after graduating college. Although she works full time as an ICU tech in Rockville, she enjoys every minute of her part-time hours spent at CityPets. Her goal is to continue hands-on training, and someday gain her certification as a veterinary technician. She has no pets of her own, but loves to dote on her parents’ Shiba Inus whenever possible.
Amanda Wong, Veterinary Technician
Amanda is a full time student at UMBC where she is a Pre-Veterinary Major studying Biology. Amanda worked at CityPets prior to starting college and we are thrilled she has rejoined the practice. Amanda has 2 rescued pets; a turtle and Buzz; her Thoroughbred horse.
Tava Cleghon, Veterinary Technician
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
St. Mary’ College of Maryland, 2003
Before joining the CityPets Veterinary Care and Wellness team, Tava did genetic research in Scotland on Drosophila (aka “fruit flies”), studied cytokine responses in Lupus patients at UC Davis, and kindled her love for helping animals at Advanced Animal Care Center in New York. Obviously, her interests are varied. She has a BA in psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and participated in a doctoral program at PGSP-Stanford Consortium studying clinical psychology. She is currently in a Veterinary Technology program to receive her animal nursing license and hopes to one day pair her two loves, psychology and animals, by starting a non-profit pairing abuse victims with therapy dogs. Tava is very excited to be part of the wonderful team at CityPets!
Courtney Sombers, Veterinary Technician
After graduating college Courtney lived and worked in various locations across the country including Kansas City, Missouri and Casper, Wyoming. She and her husband recently relocated to Baltimore from St. Thomas with their cats and two dogs and although she has both, she is most definitely a cat lady. She looks forward to meeting both you and your furry friend.
